Communications strategy and support

Staff engagement

I’m going to let you into a secret. The way you communicate with your staff is crucial in building strong teams and high morale.

Whilst many companies and organisations are great at this, often other priorities take over. You might be concentrating on building your customer base and engaging with existing clients. That takes the time away from being able to communicate effectively and regularly with staff.

And by ‘communicating’ with staff, I don’t just mean having regular one-to-ones, team meetings, or an annual appraisal. I mean, REALLY engaging them in how the business is progressing, future plans, past successes, celebrating THEIR success.

I have worked with companies large and small – some with as few as 10 people, to public sector organisations employing over 6000 people. All of them have seen the value of a more proactive way of communicating with teams, whether for a specific project that might involve major change, or for ongoing ‘business as usual’ relationship management.

Customer engagement

You’ve set up your business and things are going well. Perhaps you have had a ‘re-brand’. You’ve got an all-singing, all-dancing website, you have some great corporate brochures, and you’ve established a social media presence. Now what do you do with all this? Do you have a strategy? Do you proactively engage with your customers? Ask yourself a few questions:

  • Do I frequently add new content my website?
  • Do I a send a newsletter to clients?
  • Do I share my knowledge through blogs or insight articles?
  • Do I have a schedule for social media content or news updates on my website?

If you want to proactively engage with your clients you should have said yes to at least two of these. If you said ‘no’, I can help you to develop a strategy for communication with your clients to build your brand and even your client base.

It’s likely the outcome of the strategy will require some regular content writing, and if that’s something you simply don’t have time for, I can help with that too.

As a video production company, we are very much about visual content, so it was very important not to over complicate our website word content. Nic did a fantastic job doing exactly this, developing our existing copy into easily digested segments. She is very approachable, taking time to get to know you as an individual and how your personal traits portray the company through anything written. We continue work with Nic to keep our online published content fresh and engaging through case studies and social media.
